In my way of conceiving the best qualities of a composition, it is perhaps lesser pleasant in some aspects to the former original presentation (the Bishop in g8 perfoms just a virtual rôle, and the Queen is downgraded to a single jump over g3 in a set mate) white Pawns are admitted (while a contruction without them is a plus)
In the other hand, it stress over "thematical purity" : the black Pawn in f7 instead of a Knight demontrates the thematical idea more clearly, the importance of the f5 square is improved, and in the real play the (b) defense is not a random Knight move as before, but now just the Pawn 'hesitation' to f6 before the paradoxical f7-f5 . other qualities (mainly the effects of the black Rook batteries and
the changed mate in try 1. Ng6 c4 are preservated.
